TikTok has launched its online shop in Ireland, allowing influencers, content creators, and businesses to sell products directly within the platform. This new feature introduces “shoppable videos” and live shopping integrated into TikTok’s ‘For You’ feed, offering a seamless, creative shopping experience for users.
Launched in partnership with Guaranteed Irish, TikTok Shop focuses on promoting Irish-based businesses to its 2.2 million monthly users - launch partners include Chapters Bookstore, Cocoa Brown, and Smooth Company. Sellers can use live streams to engage with customers in real-time, answering questions and showcasing products, while shoppable videos provide a more organic way to integrate products into creative content.
TikTok Shop has already seen success in the US, where it surpassed competitors like Shein and Temu during Black Friday, achieving $100 million in sales. In Ireland, the platform aims to provide local businesses with a dynamic way to connect with their audience and grow their reach.
